Over the years, it evolved through various phases, from Aga Ziegelwerke to its current form under Adelheid Meißner GmbH. Significant developments include the construction of the Schießsport Arena Aga and the event venue from 2013-2023. History

Around 1876: Start of clay mining and brick production (Ernst Semmler Werke).

Early 1950s: Aga Ziegelwerke established.

Post-Reunification: Renamed to Ostthüringer Ziegelwerke and ETS Baukeramik

Early 1990s: Brick production ceased, clay mining continued, brickworks demolished.

2003: Adelheid Meißner GmbH acquires the clay pit.

2004–2024: Filling of the clay pit.

2013–2023: Construction of Schießsport Arena Aga and event venue.

2023: End of clay mining.

June 2024: Clay mining begins in the Saxony-Anhalt section of the mining area.

14 November 2024: Completion of recultivation and final closure of clay mining in the Thuringian section.
